When we decided that we were going to throw everything in and embark on a trip around the world, we quickly became excited as to the endless possibilities that lay before us. As our talk turned into reality, the idea dawned on us, why not create a place that would allow anyone, anywhere to get as excited about the world as we are? Why not create a spot where people can be intrigued by what we are doing, share their own ideas and thoughts and be inspired to go out and achieve.
Posititiveworldtravel.com is not just a place to store photos and blogs. It’s an interaction and culmination of the thoughts, adventures and emotions that is the direct result of our experiences. We want people to read, see and hear about the world from our perspective and hopefully in return we can learn something too.
We want it to be a place where people can go if they want to laugh, read if they want to learn and connect if they want to share. We want a community of like- minded ‘positiveworldtravelers’ across the globe.
I, myself (Elise) am a primary school teacher an Anthony has been a chef for the past 10 years at various restaurants around Sydney.
We are both so passionate about what we do that makes this trip even more exciting. We want to learn what other cultures value, what things are important to them? What is food like elsewhere? How is it prepared? How do children get to school? Do all kids have homework? These are some of the many questions and quandaries that we aim to learn about in all the countries we visit.
We want to learn and experience as much as we can about the world and what it has to offer. We want to arrive in a country and be thrown head first into its rich culture and values-whatever that may entail. We want to meet new people, visit families and talk to the locals about their way of life, what they believe in and what makes their country so special.
On top of all this, we plan to do it all without a guidebook. Getting from A to B, will be purely going off word of mouth from the people we meet and the local knowledge we acquire. This will be half the adventure! Think about it. Before guidebooks, who told us where to sleep, what to eat and what to do?
We want our journey to govern this trip. The plan is to have no plan. So log on, but ‘unplug’ and be enthralled by what we have to offer!
