Canon Cameras for the Northern Territory Trip

Tomorrow we will be travelling to the Northern Territory and will be participating in the “Top End Tour” which will take us to some of the most breath-taking landscapes in Australia. We are overjoyed at this opportunity and we have dreamt of visiting NT for years and now it is becoming a reality.

If you have been around on our site you would know that I am a photography and video nerd and I just love anything Canon. I own several cameras, all of which are Canon cameras and Elise sometimes even jokes that I spend more time with my cameras than I do with her. So when we were told that Canon Australia will be supplying all of the camera equipment for our Northern Territory trip, you could understand my excitement to have the opportunity to get my hands on the latest Canon camera equipment.

I wanted to let you all know about the equipment that we will be using and also how I see myself utilising each Canon camera for content on Positive World Travel.

Canon Powershot D20

This is a small Canon camera but it sure packs a punch. It is shock proof, water proof, and freeze proof. It is bloody everything-proof! I think this camera could be in an earth quake and still survive! I will be using this camera on the trip to take underwater video and I am looking forward to seeing just how good the quality actually is. I have gone through a couple of underwater camera’s from other companies and have been disappointed with the results. We will be canoeing on this Northern Territory trip and can’t wait to test out the capabilities of the Canon Powershot D20.

Canon 60Da

I currently use a Canon 60D for all our photography and video needs. I absolutely love my camera and it ticks all the boxes when it comes to travelling and having a quality video and photos of your trip. However the Canon 60Da is a little different to the camera that I own. It is a camera specifically designed for astrological photography and I have been told there are only 15-or-so in the world and we will have the opportunity to be using one on our Northern Territory trip. I am eager to see the capabilities of this camera and just how far into the universe we can see with the Canon 60Da. I can’t wait to share the photos we take with this camera and are honoured to be one of very few people that will use the Canon 60Da.

Canon 5D Mark III

This has to be the Canon camera which I am most excited about using! It is the ultimate camera for videos and stunning photography. I have dreamt about owning such a camera and although we can’t afford this brilliant piece of image technology, all my dreams will come true for a short period of time I can imagine what it would be like to have the latest in the Canon 5D range. I am anticipating that this will be the camera I use the most on this trip and I think the Canon camera rep’s will have a hard time getting it back off me at the end of our Top End Tour.

Only one more sleep until I get to play with all these new camera’s and I will be telling you all about my experiences via our social media networks. If money was no object which Canon camera would you like to own?

Our trip to the Northern Territory is being provided by Tourism NT & Canon Australia. All opinions, as always are my own.
