I haven't been pick pocketed but we did have our camper broken into in Barcelona and they took everything within about 10 mins. My favorite piece of travel clothing would have to be waterproof trail running shoes. I have worn them on serious hikes (Inca Trail to Machu Picchu) and also casually around town.
