Many of you now know that I was pick-pocketed in Granda, Nicaragua. I thought that I would most definitely know when someone had their hand in my in my pockets. Little did I know that these people are professionals and before I knew it, my wallet was gone. After publishing the article of my pick-pocketing incident, I was contacted by Clothing Arts, a company that has pushed the boundaries in keeping your belonging safe and secure whilst on your body.
Adam from Clothing Arts was kind enough to send me a pair of Pick-pocket Proof Travel Pants to test-drive and review. Not only that, we are giving you the opportunity to WIN an entire outfit for FREE from Clothing Arts. We just want to make sure that you don’t end up like I did and lose your wallet or worse still your passport.

Pick-pocket travel pants
History Of Clothing Arts
Adam the owner had a similar experience to mine and after losing his personal belonging in China came up with the concept of Pick-pocket Proof Pants. He realised that no one was making clothing that he wanted to wear and there was a need for personal security when travelling to more dangerous countries. So after 2 years of development the first Pick-pocket Proof Pants were born.
Doing It For The Kids
Clothing Arts has also partnered with Cambodian children’s charities and they ensure that these children see a brighter future. We have seen first hand the poverty in Cambodia and Adam and his team are giving a huge 20% of their proceeds from the sale of there Cloth Heart Collection to Cambodian children’s charities.
What I thought
I thought the best way to test drive these pants was to take them away with me and go camping in the Australia Bush. Well not really an environment that I would be getting pick-pocketed but I wanted to test out all the features as these aren’t any ordinary type of pants.
My first impression was that there were a great deal of pockets on these shorts. This is definitely a must when you are travelling as you always need somewhere to place all your personal belongings. I think you can never get enough pockets as most of the time I would like to venture out without the need to take a day pack.

The rear pockets
Every one of the pockets have anti-theft protection. The side pockets have zippers and and extra material fastener to ensure no unwanted hands will enter. The pants have the usual cargo pockets but the ingenious thing with these is they have an extra clasp on the inside that prevents the pockets from gapping open. Sometimes the simplest of features are the best.
There are a number of hidden pockets throughout the shorts but my favourite would have to be the hidden passport pouch that is located on the left rear of the shorts and hidden within the existing pocket. you would never know that you were carrying your passport on your bum.

Expandable pockets
Adam has thought of everything with these shorts and they include a water bottle holder that conveniently attaches to the side of the shorts, and an expandable rear pocket that will fit a guide book. Over the many years of planning these shorts, every fine detail has been accounted for and trailed and tested.
The Material
I found the material to have an up and also a down side. The material is extremely durable and is pretty much ‘everything’ resistant. It is wrinkle-free, rain and stain resistant and even the pockets are slash resistant with double thick fabric thread. These shorts will do everything but fly you to the moon! Although all these features in the material are simply amazing, I did find the shorts to be slightly heavy when I first put them on. This is a small price to pay for having all the unique features in one garment.

Ant-theft pockets
The Verdict
I would definitely recommend these shorts if you are planning on going overseas. They will protect your belongings, they are comfortable and they also look pretty cool. I will be taking these with me on my next trip to America in June and Africa in December.

I think it’s great that these are extremely usable, but also look great, too. I find that so often useful things don’t have much thought put into the aesthetics…AND they have a charitable cause?! Simply wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
These shorts look amazing…My favorite piece of travel clothing is probably a scarf. That way I’m always appropriately covered up anywhere we go. But now I want some inspector gadget pants with all the bells and whistles!
This stuff from Clothing Arts looks great, would love to try it out on our travels so we don’t fall victim to (Nicaraguan) pick-pockets. Knock on wood, after 5 years on the road, no theft so far.
Anything that lets me leave a daypack behind is a good thing. Would love to win!
What a great outfit to wear and win! Its amazing how many different companies are now coming out with great looking comfortable clothing for bush walking/hiking and backpacking!
Cheers
Lisa
I never travel without a couple bandana’s.. Multipurpose functioning! Besides the obvious you can use it for First Aid in a pinch!
I travel a lot as an international evangelist, and love the security that these shorts offer.
What a great idea! Could have used those in Rome. Favourite travel clothing item is my Merrell hikers.
My favorite item of travel clothing would definitely be a fleece jacket. Lightweight, warm, and packs compactly!
I always travel with a skort (skirt & shorts) – comfortable and pockets with zippers. The pick pocket shorts are a fantastic idea – hope I win!
About this outfit

These pants look amazing. My favorite piece of travel clothing would have to be waterproof trail running shoes. I have worn them on serious hikes (Inca Trail to Machu Picchu) and also casually around town. They keep the water out when it rains but aren’t big heavy hiking boots.
Favorite piece of travel clothing would have to be my Asic sneakers, when traveling we do huge ammounts of walking and mine have orthotics in them so pity any thief that might swipe them.
The shorts are a great idea, perhaps a publicity stunt with multiple people wandering about in them in high profile pick pocket areas…. classic! I haven’t been pick pocketed but we did have our camper broken into in Barcelona and they took everything within about 10 mins. Grr
great to say hi, ciao lisa
These look great. Love the logo, P3 (cubed), and the hidden passport pocket…and the water bottle attachment pocket seems convenient. Sorry to hear about your pickpocketing experience..bummer.
An excellent PCube product like this should be mass produced for the good of global travel community

A sarong is my favourite. It can also be a tablecloth, a picnic rug, a towel, a sheet, and shade. You can also wear it when swimming if modesty is required.
The pick pocket pants would provide peace of mind in tricky situations and look good enough to wear anywhere!
Hey guys,
would love the pants. Looking good!
Ha, too quick with that submit button.
My favorite piece are my water proof hiking boots. they’ve been on 4 continents with me, never let me down.
Good to see a company thinking of safety when travelling.
I love having sandals for strolling the city, taking in the sites, a casual lunch, etc. Sandals are so much more comfy than shoes.
My favorite piece of travel clothing is a pair of linen drawstring pants. They are perfect for almost any warm climate and look appropriate and stylish in almost any situation.
I would love to win the Clothing Arts shorts and t-shirt for my boyfriend, because I know how much he would appreciate the design that’s gone into making them. I love that the company helps Cambodian children’s charities too!
They look good and are practical, great combo!
My piece of travelwear is my tough brown multi-pocket skirt which is decent to wear in any country.I like to win this versatile PCube product for our next escapade in Asia. Thanks in advance!!
Love this idea!
This outfit would be perfect for our upcoming trip to India. Kids always point to your pockets and it would be great to feel comfortable not feeling weary of innocent people!

Interesting that you mention you got pickpocketed in Nicaragua, as I’m about to head to that country in 2 weeks. Love the pants idea! Simple travel accessory I like is sandals … simple and quick!
Love that a pair of pants can provide an extra layer of security AND comfort!
My favorite piece of travel clothing is a good pair of dry-wick socks. No matter where you are, your day can be ruined if your feet aren’t happy!

Most pickpocketers use a sharp blade to cut the pockets and grab the wallet. I don’t think they can easily cut through the fabric. I’m just concerned about washing those pants, is the fabric soft to wash?
The fabric is fine after washing. They are a great pair of pants
