4 fabulous reasons to visit Tenerife

The Canary Islands comprise 7 islands, 4 of which (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura) are especially popular with tourists all year round. The all-year-round sunshine, stunning scenery and abundance of things to do and see, are the reason that the islands are visited by millions of tourists every single year. Tenerife is the most popular of all the islands. With its beautiful beaches, fabulous restaurants, and wonderful scenery, it is a destination that would suit holidaymakers of all ages. Here are 4 fabulous reasons to visit Tenerife.

Golfing

If you are a keen golfer, you will be pleased to note that Tenerife boasts a whopping eight golf courses, and you can play all year round.  Real Club de Golf is the oldest course on the island, and the second oldest in the whole of Spain, so if you are looking for a course rich in history, this might be the one for you. With large greens and wide fairways, the Abama golf club, designed by Dave Thomas, is a great course for players of all levels and one that is not to be missed. Regardless of where you play, you are guaranteed stunning views and beautiful grounds.

Mount Teide

Mount Teide is located in the middle of the island and is the world’s third largest ocean-island volcano. It last erupted in 1909 but is still active! It is the most visited tourist attraction on the island, and most hotels have organized coach trips you can book. If you want to visit under your own steam, you can rent a car, but be mindful that the roads are very windy and steep, so if you are at all nervous, it might not be a good idea. If you want to hike, the summit is around 3718 meters high and can be reached on foot (you will require a permit.) Try to visit on a clear day where possible – the views are truly breath-taking.

Siam Park

Siam Park is a 4-acre water and activity park located in Costa Adeje and rated one of the best in the world! With a huge range of water slides, relaxation areas and thrill rides, the whole family can get involved. There are beaches, pools, entertainment areas, and lots of areas to lie and have some well-earned rest.

Whale watching

The warm weather off the coast of Morocco, couple with the deep Pacific Ocean, makes the perfect location for whale watching right by the Canary Islands. Whether you want to go via an organized tour or hire a sailing boat, motorboat or catamaran, there are a host of ways you can see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Over 20 species visit the coast of Tenerife around the year, and it isn’t just whales that you are likely to spot. You also have a good chance of spotting bottlenose dolphins. Whale watching in Tenerife is something that the whole family will enjoy whilst making fabulous memories that will last a very long time.
